About Mr Nick Boyce Cam
Mr Nick Boyce Cam is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon based at the Mid Cheshire NHS Trust. He also practices at the Nuffield Grosvenor Hospital, Chester and undertakes a peripheral clinic at Victoria Infirmary, Northwich.
Mr Boyce Cam is fellowship trained in managing conditions affecting both the knee and hip. His specialist interests include treating sports knee injuries, knee ligament reconstruction, joint preservation procedures as well as joint replacement surgery.
Mr Boyce Cam’s philosophy is to assess, and diagnose the cause of any symptoms before providing a tailored management. His approach which incorporates a range of treatments including surgery aims to restore function and address painful symptoms.
Personal Profile
Mr Nick Boyce Cam graduated in 2000 with honors in surgery from Leeds University and completed higher surgical training on the Yorkshire orthopedic rotation. During his training he gained further experience from working in Australia and New Zealand. Mr Boyce Cam has a strong academic interest and in 2011 was awarded the John Fitton prize for the best orthopedic research in Yorkshire.
He obtained the FRCS (Tr & Orth) in 2011 and was admitted onto the specialist register in 2012. In 2013 Mr Boyce Cam was appointed Honorary Clinical Tutor at Leeds University Medical School. He furthered his interest in training future doctors by completing a post-graduate certificate in medical education at Warwick University. He was appointed Consultant Trauma and Orthopedic Surgeon at Mid Cheshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in September 2014.
Mr Boyce Cam has undertaken three sub-specialist fellowships, focusing on disorders of the hip and knee. These nationally renowned posts in Harrogate, York and Reading allowed him to build on extensive surgical experiences gained as an orthopedic trainee. His scope of practice includes restoring function following sports injuries, as well as managing patients with more established conditions. In addition to arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery and ligament reconstruction of the knee, Mr Boyce Cam undertakes partial, total and revision hip and knee replacement surgery.
